Daniel Goldenberg

Daniel
Goldenberg

Daniel is the principal of Goldenberg & Co. whose practice focuses on commercial transactions in the areas of entertainment, media and intellectual property. Daniel primarily practices on the film, television and music industries. He acts for film and television producers and distributors, publishers, creators, artists and entrepreneurs.

Daniel advises his clients on all aspects of the development, financing, production, licensing and distribution of film, television, music and new media projects and has significant experience in international treaty co-production, domestic production, and service production structures.

With a particular interest in Canadian music, Daniel has assisted a number of labels, bands, producers and artists in the negotiation of recording, management and publishing agreements.

Daniel also has considerable experience advising companies operating in the digital media space with respect to general corporate matters and IP-related concerns.

Prior to founding Goldenberg & Co., and its predecessor Goldenberg Nahmias LLP, Daniel started his legal career with a prominent (and now defunct) Bay Street firm, spent two years in the UK at the London office of Clifford Chance LLP in their asset and secured finance group and, subsequently was a senior associate with a boutique entertainment law firm in Toronto.

When not advising clients or pursuing his own career as a semi-amateur musician, Daniel is usually thinking about tennis (and how bad he is), or his two daughters, Hazel and Molly – and usually in that order.
